Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab is a luxury hotel and restaurant located in Dubai,United Arab Emirates .Burj Al Arab is managed by the Jumeirah Group. The architect was Tom Wright of Atkins,Said Khalil of Mitchelsson Group. It have 202 rooms. At 321 metres (1,053 ft), it is the tallest building used as a hotel. The Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island 280 metres (919 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. It is an iconoc structure, designed to symbolize Dubai's urban transformation and to mimic the sail of a boat. The building design features a steel exoskeleton wrapped around a reinforced concrete tower. They wanted a building that would become an iconic or symbolic statement for Dubai. It needed to be a building that would become synonymous with the name of the country. The Burj Al Arab was built between 1994 and1999.The architect and engineering consultant for the project was Atkins, the UK's largest multidisciplinary consultancy. The hotel was built by South African construction contractor Murray & Roberts. The hotel cost $650 million to build.
In my opinion to choose this building because it have an unic shape of the building. The type of the building was a skyscraper and that was amazing because they built Burj Al Arab on artificial island. It's mean the building must have the best of stable because the wind are too hard in the sea.
